Innovative Ways to Use Building Supplies
Innovative Ways to Use Building Supplies
Every year, some new technology emerges for improvement in building technology. New developments and technology enable architects to bring their vision to reality. Newly developed and innovative materials help in saving money by offering cost-effective solutions along with better efficiency and durability.
At Marvel BMT, we have compiled a list of such futuristic and innovative materials that have an extremely extraordinary breakthrough for the future of the construction industry. Marvel BMT is one of the largest wholesale building materials suppliers in Dubai. We at Marvel BMT have compiled a list of innovative building materials. Keep reading more:
Invisible acoustic coating for round surfaces
There are many acoustic coating solutions on the market. But none of them serve the aesthetics of an interior. Thus, the cutting-edge and innovative acoustic coating offered by BAWSA offers a great sustainable and aesthetically pleasing solution. This can be easily applied on any surface and stays discreet. Without disturbing any looks, this solution performs well as an acoustic coating. This can be easily applied on curved and round surfaces as well. Many construction materials suppliers in Dubai have several types of acoustic coatings.
Carbon concrete
This is an extremely new and innovative composite material. It has an amazing potential to revolutionize the entire architectural industry. This carbon concrete is very light in weight as compared to reinforced concrete and has more strength and durability. Carbon concrete is made up of a combination of concrete and carbon fibers. The most important advantage of this concrete is that it does not rust and thus as compared to reinforced concrete thick layers of concrete are not needed. With the usage of carbon concrete, there can be a significant reduction in the consumption of sand and a reduction in CO2 emissions that is associated with the production of reinforced concrete. From any type of carbon, we can produce this building material researchers are researching using different waste products for the construction of carbon concrete. As compared to reinforced concrete, carbon concrete is 5 to 6 times stronger and more durable. Carbon concrete is very light in weight and has a considerably higher service life. So overall carbon concrete is much better as compared to traditional concrete, the only drawback is at present carbon concrete is 20 times more costly than traditional concrete. Carbon concrete may still take a time to come into mainstream usage, until then you can check different varieties of concrete material available with Marvel BMT, a leading building materials supplier in the UAE.
Super Material
Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed this innovative material, which is ultra-light and ten times stronger than steel. This material is even lighter than plastic and can withstand much heavier loads. Super material is made of graphene flakes which are compressed into a large web covered with cobwebs. This material is almost hollow and has a density of only 5 percent of traditional graphene. At Marvel BMT’s building material shop in Dubai, you can find a variety of different types of steel for your construction requirements.
Self-healing concrete
Since Roman times, various innovations and trials are being conducted for a block of self-healing concrete. Although roman did manage to have a version of self-healing concrete for underwater usage, using it was a very cumbersome and time-consuming process. After the Romans, directly in the 21st-century, researchers succeeded in having a sophisticated version of self-healing concrete. With the addition of a bacterial named Bacillus which is mixed into the concrete before pouring, normal concrete turns into self-healing concrete. Whenever cracks appear in concrete, these bacteria form limestone in the crack and settle there for more than 200 years. Thus, this is a very innovative and helpful discovery of the 21st century.
Aero graphite
Researchers at Hamburg University 2012 developed this amazing material. Aero graphite is made up of a network of hollow carbon tubes. This unique structure makes aero graphite 75 times lighter than Styrofoam. Aero graphite stays stable at room temperature, can conduct electricity, and can be shaped into various forms. This is truly a very innovative material. Aero graphite is both malleable and ductile. It is so flexible that it can be compressed up to 95 percent of its size and becomes stronger after compression, unlike other lightweight materials.
Artificial spider silk
One company in Japan named Spiber Inc. has worked on the research of artificial spider silk. The company claims that this material is 340 times stronger than steel and is more sustainable than any other material in the world. However, this material cannot withstand weather changes and is still confined to research laboratories and workshops.
Cigarette Butt Bricks
The world has a huge population of smokers, and the waste created by them of cigarette butts is huge. You can easily find cigarette butts on sidewalks, on streets, and almost anywhere very easily. The problem of cigarette butts was getting huge thus to combat it and find a sustainable solution for it RMIT has developed a brick whose major composition would be cigarette butts.
The construction industry needs consistent developments and innovations in material supplies to meet the demand of modern buyers. High performance and highly durable materials which are eco-friendly and sustainable are the future of the building and construction industry. Apart from innovative materials, innovative building technologies like 3d printing houses are also on the rise, and they have the capability of offering a comprehensive solution to the construction industry.
